It is with great enthusiasm that I write this recommendation for Tom Ackerman of Classic Connections based in Topsham, Maine. Tom has consistently demonstrated an unparalleled level of expertise, professionalism, and dedication in organizing fishing trips that have left an indelible mark on my outdoor adventures.

My journey with Tom and Classic Connections began with a trout fishing expedition to the White River in Arkansas. From the outset, Tom exhibited a deep understanding of the intricacies of the sport, ensuring that every aspect of the trip was meticulously planned and executed. His knowledge of the local waters and fishing techniques proved invaluable as we navigated the pristine streams, resulting in an unforgettable angling experience.

Subsequently, I had the pleasure of embarking on a trout fishing expedition to Chile, organized flawlessly by Tom. Amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Chilean Andes, Tom’s expertise shone brightly, guiding us to prime fishing spots where the trout were abundant. His unwavering commitment to providing a memorable adventure was evident in every detail, from arranging accommodations to facilitating interactions with local guides.

Tom’s dedication to delivering unparalleled fishing experiences extended beyond borders as we ventured into Slovenia and Italy. In these picturesque locales, Tom’s passion for angling and profound respect for nature were palpable. Whether pursuing Rainbow, Brown, or Marbled Trout, Tom’s guidance ensured that each outing was both rewarding and enriching, leaving me with a profound appreciation for the beauty of these regions and the sport of fishing.

Moreover, Tom’s expertise extends to the diverse ecosystems of Louisiana, where we targeted Redfish amidst the lush marshlands. His intimate knowledge of the area’s tidal patterns and fish behavior enabled us to navigate the maze of waterways with confidence, resulting in thrilling encounters with these prized gamefish. Tom’s unwavering enthusiasm and infectious love for the sport made every moment on the water a joyous celebration of nature’s wonders.

In addition to his exceptional organizational skills and profound knowledge of fishing, Tom’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship is commendable. He consistently promotes sustainable angling practices and fosters a deep respect for the natural world among his clients, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the beauty of our planet’s waters.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Tom Ackerman of Classic Connections to anyone seeking an unparalleled fishing adventure. His passion for angling, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering dedication to client satisfaction set him apart as a true leader in the field. With Tom at the helm, you can trust that your fishing expedition will not only meet but exceed your wildest expectations.

I am an eighty-eight-year-old retired ophthalmologist. For the last seventy-seven of those years, I have been an avid fly fisherman. For the last thirty of those years, I have known Tom Ackerman, whose business was centered on helping people find world-class fishing and hunting adventures. I joined him on several of his hosted trips to Canada, Patagonia, and the Bahamas. He was also instrumental in helping me plan several of my own trips to places like Kamchatka, Slovenia, and New Zealand. We also spent many enjoyable days together on the Kennebec River in Maine, where Tom guided for striped bass. I am pleased to say this about my good friend Tom.  He is an absolute professional. He is knowledgeable and has an extensive network of high-level contacts in the fly-fishing industry. He knows the places to go, how to get there, and then what to do when you arrive to maximize your success. If you choose to use his services, you will find him conscientious, charming, witty, and a delight to be around… and always perfectly appropriate!!! I can’t recommend him highly enough.
